Italian redemption problems is serious |
Italy’s problems with ticket redemption games will be highlighted at a special seminar to be run during the EAG trade show opening at ExCeL, London, on January 15. The seminar, organised by Italian trade journal Gioco News, will look at the current crisis in several Italian regions where the local authority has taken the stance that ticket redemption introduces children to gambling. Notable among the problem areas is the major seaside resort of Emilia-Romagna where many arcades are located. Also banning ticket redemption are Fiuli, Veneto and Tuscany. The Italian trade association FEE is seeking to overturn the negative influences among the politicians in the country and the seminar will discuss the way forward. The operators have combined to fund independent research by a Rome university, hopefully to establish that there is no connection between redemption and gambling. The seminar will be chaired by InterGame’s David Snook who will be joined in the debate by former Euromat and BACTA President Jason Frost and by FEE’s Alessandro Lama. (2019/01/25) |
