Legoland installs VR roller coaster |
When Legoland Florida Resort opened its newest attraction, “ The Great Lego Race,” earlier this year, the resort said it was the first virtual reality (VR) roller coaster experience for kids, and the first time the Lego brand and minifigure characters have been combined with VR technology in a theme park attraction. The wild race sets guests against a pirate, wizard, pharaoh, and surfer while piloting Lego-built vehicles. The vehicles include a rocket-powered windsurfing craft, a scooter fueled by espresso, and an ornately canopied bed carried by mummy servants. The experience is intended for children ages 6 and older who meet the 48-inch height requirement; the optional VR headsets are designed to fit both adults and kids. (2018/07/19) |
