ENADA Spring 2009 – The Winning Game

On Saturday March 21 at Rimini Fiera the 21st edition of the international amusement and gaming machine show ended, after being attended by 25,545 visitors (1.5% up on 2008).  A boom in foreign visitors (+9%)The second edition of B.E.R., Bowling Event Rimini held simultaneously. The next appointment is at Rome’s new Expo Centre (October 7-9 2009) for ENADA’s autumn edition.

The 21st edition of SAPAR’s ENADA SPRING International Amusement & Gaming Machine Show, organized by Rimini Fiera SpA with the sponsorship of the AAMS, the support of Euromat and in collaboration with ASCOB, As.tro, Fidart and Sicon closed on Saturday at Rimini Fiera.  During the show’s four days, ENADA Spring was attended by 25,545 trade visitors (a 1.5% rise on 2008), of whom 2,810 were from abroad (+9%). The expo also had excellent media coverage. The trade and specialist press were out in their entirety and great attention was paid to the event every day by local and regional media. Rimini also hosted the cameras of RAI, Mediaset, La7 and Sky, as well as the microphones of the major radio networks. Overall, between trade and generalist press, the expo was attended by 165 accredited journalists, of whom 51 were foreign.

The expo had a high international profile. As well as from Germany and Switzerland, the trade fair also hosted buyers from the nations of the Balkan area. Many trade visitors also arrived from Japan, Taiwan and India.  Right from the ribbon-cutting ceremony, entrusted this year to the chairmen of SAPAR (Paolo Dalla Pria) and Rimini Fiera (Lorenzo Cagnoni) the event was obviously seen to be a success.Chairman Cagnoni said on that occasion, “This show once again confirms its role as the sector’s leader in the southern European market, occupying 40,000 m2 distributed over six halls at the west end of the expo centre. It is a record-breaking expo, which has never been so large, attractive and 'healthy.’  Excellent encouragement for the future. I’m particularly pleased to be able to make these statements today, at the inauguration of ENADA, a trade fair that has become increasingly important for a sector that knows no crisis and represents an excellent business launching pad for trade members.”

Chairman Dalla Pria continued, “ENADA is the largest amusement arcade in the world. Type-testing and approval of Comma 6/A machines have freed the market and Italian venues are awaiting approximately 250,000 new machines within December 15th 2009. There are already numerous approved machines and the sector is working flat out, thanks also to the work done by the SAPAR, which, as always, is alongside trade members, to support the responsible growth of the sector. Economic crisis? At this point, I can say we feel it less than other sectors, perhaps because Italians - quite rightly – want to keep a tight hold on some time for amusement."

After the conclusion of ENADA Spring 2009, Simone Castelli, manager of Rimini Fiera business unit 2, commented, “This edition ended with wide satisfaction on behalf of the exhibitors. We increased foreign participants, exhibiting firms presented important new products and had really high profile stands. The expo, confirming the good market trend, was dynamic, proactive and positive. BER, the expo dedicated to bowling, also achieved excellent feedback, confirming that it is a good project.”  ENADA project manager Gabriella Zoni stresses, “The start of type-testing and approval of Comma 6/a machines evidently boosted the sector. The entrepreneurs of the Amusement & Gaming industry continue to bet on the future of their sector, which is showing that it’s lively at international level too.”

The next appointment with the coin-op amusement trade is at ENADA Rome, in the Italian capital’s new expo centre, from October 7 to 9, 2009.
