"The record-breaking size and scope of AAE 2010 is further confirmation of the industry’s growth in the region. This show offers attendees the perfect venue to develop and build relationships within the industry through its unmatched number of exhibitors, the quality of the education program, and number of networking opportunities,” said Charlie Bray, President and CEO of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA). Produced by IAAPA, AAE 2010 is co-hosted by the Malaysia Association of Amusement Themepark and Family Attractions (MAATFA) and the Australian Amusement Leisure and Recreation Association (AALARA).
Since 1997, AAE has been the premier event for the multibillion-dollar leisure and attractions industry in Asia. The expo provides a unique buying and educational opportunity for owners, operators, and managers of theme parks, waterparks, family entertainment centers, museums, science centers, zoos, aquariums, casinos, and resorts. Participants will view the latest products and services, tour local attractions, conduct business, learn from each other, exchange ideas, network with colleagues, and discuss industry trends. During the event this year, exhibitors will showcase innovative products in more than 100 categories, including amusement and theme park rides; architectural and design services; coin-operated games, skill games, and redemption prizes; theatrical productions; and maintenance services and equipment.

Education program covers safety, operations, and marketing
AAE 2010 will also feature sessions to provide opportunities for attendees to learn the latest industry information and best practices from their peers, industry experts, and also some of the most respected leaders in the industry. “The education program at AAE 2010 will present the core issues of the industry from some of the most successful, safe, and profitable facilities and leaders,” said John Henderson, Vice President of Education at IAAPA. Sessions will focus on tenets of success within the attractions industry, leadership, safety, operations, and marketing. AAE 2010 will provide opportunities for members to network with key leaders in the industry, discuss advancements being made around the globe, and look for ways to increase business. Several events will take place at unique venues, including Aquaria, 7atenine restaurant, Sunway Lagoon, and Genting Highlands Resort.
The Expo takes place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). Awarded Asia’s Best Convention & Exhibition Center in 2009 by the Central European Initiative, KLCC boasts Aquaria, a 60,000-square-foot underground aquarium, which is adjacent to the six-story Suria KLCC shopping center and near the distinct Petronas Twin Towers. The Towers are linked at the 41st and 42nd levels by the Skybridge, and 1,000 to 3,000 people visit the towers each day. Also in the area are the science-based Petrosains Discovery Centre; Central Market (or Pasar Seni), a primary resource for Malaysian arts and crafts; and the Batu Caves, caverns sitting 272 steps underground and adorned with Hindu shrines.
