Nashville Shores, the largest waterpark in Tennessee, is adding a new interactive playground this summer on Percy Priest Lake. Aqua Park, designed by Wibit Sports, includes 40 colorful units with monkey bars, action towers and wiggle bridges that call for guests to run, balance slide and jump. “The lake and natural beauty of the property separates us from every destination in Middle Tennessee,” said Larry Edgmon, General Manager of Nashville Shores. “With the introduction of the Aqua Park, we are highlighting the lake and providing families an incredible lake experience that they cannot find anywhere else.” The roll out of Aqua Park coincides with Nashville Shores’ 20th anniversary, which will include a “gigantic birthday party.” The park opened in 1998 with two slides and has since grown to a 385-acre park with 20 slides, a wave pool, a lazy river, and treehouses.

In 2009, an investor group led by former Six Flags CEO Kieran Burke purchased the park. Nashville Shores also plans to improve its beach area with new cabanas, more shade areas, a tiki bar, a new beach volleyball court and more sand. “We are always looking to provide more recreational opportunities for teens, kids, parents and grandparents,” said Edgmon. “By embracing the lake with the beach improvements and new attraction, we are providing more opportunities and another destination within the park for family fun.” |
