Hello Kitty theme park coming to Vietnam (2016/11/10) |
Hello Kitty is coming to Vietnam’s capital in the shape of a new multi-million dollar family entertainment centre and indoor theme park – the very first internationally branded park in the country. Coming to Hanoi at a yet-to-be-confirmed date, Vietnam-based BRG Group has teamed with Sanrio Wave Hong Kong to create the attraction. Dubbed “Hello Kitty Park” the development will feature a range of additional Sanrio IPs, including My Melody, PomPomPurin, Cinnamoroll, Bad Badtz-Maru and Kerokerokeroppi.
According to BRG, official tourism statistics show strong demand for high-end entertainment services in the nation, yet the existing supply for this sector has in fact been “weak and inadequate”. “BRG has always been a strong supporter of bringing uniqueness and creativity to customers through all of our products and services. The children entertainment market is no exception to this,” said Nguyen Thi Ng, BRG chair. “Children are like flowers – they deserve to receive the very best from us all. Our cooperation efforts with Sanrio will create a unique, creative entertainment market, accommodating the demand for world-class children’s attractions in Vietnam."
While Hello Kitty Park will be Vietnam’s first major branded visitor attraction, it isn’t expected to be the only one for long, after plans were announced in March for two Six Flags branded attraction to open near Ho Chi Minh City.
