Bay Tek buys Skee-Ball (2016/03/01) |
Bay Tek Games has acquired the assets of one of the amusement industry’s most recognisable names, Skee-Ball.
The deal was officially completed this week following months of communication between the two companies.
The acquisition of Skee-Ball is the latest in a number of strategic purchases made over the years by Bay Tek, with the company having bought Coin Concepts, Seidel Amusements, Meltec Games and Victory Lane Ideas between 1997 and 2004.
With this latest move, the company is planning to expand its portfolio offering while also leveraging the 107-year-old Skee-Ball brand.
“For 31 years we at Skee-Ball have supplied the amusement industry with quality that withstands the test of time,” said Skee-Ball's Joe Sladek. “It is at this time that we choose to take a different path and hand the Skee-Ball reigns over to the good people at Bay Tek.
“It is a bittersweet goodbye, but we know our customers are in good hands. After all, Skee-Ball is, and will always remain, the game they keep coming back to.”
Gaetan Philippon, Bay Tek CEO, added: “We have a lot of respect for the Skee-Ball company, its people and the brand that it carries. We want to celebrate and leverage that and we are eager to see how our capabilities can take the brand to the next level.”
Following the acquisition, Bay Tek is rebranding its Fireball Fusions alley lanes to Skee-Ball. |
