Organized by the Industrial Development Bureau (IDB), Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), with the purposes of promoting the development of Taiwan’s digital content industry and increasing cooperation opportunities between domestic and international industry members, Taipei International Digital Content Summit & Fair 2012 (Digital Taipei 2012) was dynamically held on July 16~17 at the 2F to 4F of the NTUH International Convention Center. The organizer this time specially invited 250 international buyers from 17 countries and regions to attend the event. The event gave Taiwanese companies a fabulous networking platform to boost their export trade with 68 international forums and 660-plus communication sessions.
Since its debut, Digital Taipei has quickly gained its incomparable position among the international digital content shows in Asia. Both domestic and overseas enterprises gave strong and enthusiastic support to the event. Director General of the Industrial Development Bureau, MOEA, said “Digital Taipei 2012 brings together digital content industries in areas of animation, gaming, digital learning and digital audio & video and e-publishing. The event is the optimal access for Taiwan’s businesses to promote internationally and catch up with the global trends.”
Throughout the two-day academic feast, Hong-Yu Din, Industry Analyst of Market Intelligence Center (MIC), Institute for Information Industry (III), talked about trends and innovations in the global gaming market. James Hursthouse, CEO of Roadhouse, gave an address on the topic of “Games Designers are the Smartest People in the Universe.” Moreover, with the topic “Entering the social mobile Age-Trends and Opportunities,” Samson Mow, Founder & CEO of Pixelmatic, shared his experiences in developing social mobile games.
