Margaritaville at Lake Lanier Islands to launch Georgia's first watercoaster in 2024 |
Margaritaville at Lanier Islands, US is poised to redefine aquatic thrills in 2024 when it unleashes Georgia's first waterslide coaster, Apocalypso. Apocalypso is the centerpiece of a tower of four new water slides at the park, marking the most significant expansion of Margaritaville at Lanier Islands in decades. In 2024, the water park will have no less than 15 slides to enjoy. Described as the "ultimate fusion waterslide," Apocalypso is highlighted by plunging drops and uphill blasts, with the largest blasterango drop - which sends riders on rafts careening down steep valleys and then blasting them up hills - in the country. The attraction has 418 feet of slide and an average water speed of 30 mph.
And if that wasn't enough, the water park will feature three more world-class slides that also begin from the Apocalypso tower. Serpentine Storm combines high-banking rotations of a bowl with the rapid descent of a downward spiraling flume; Dreamsicle Dive features a closed and open tube that delivers high-intensity fun; and Mango Mania, a lower-intensity slide, features various slopes and slide paths perfect for younger riders. "This blockbuster tower of slides, featuring Georgia's first waterslide coaster, will be an epic addition to Margaritaville, said "Bucky" Perry, vice president of Margaritaville at Lanier Islands.
