A new water park to debut in Dominican Republic |
The largest and most advanced water park in the Caribbean is to open in Dominican Republic. Work has begun on the new El Dorado Park water park in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. It will be the largest and most advanced water park in the Caribbean when it opens in 2023, also creating more than 350 direct jobs and more than 700 indirect roles. President of the Dominican Republic Luis Abinader said,“Our tourism model is a world reference and it will continue to be for investment offers and bets like this one. It is the way to distinguish yourself, to stand out and lead the market, employment, investment, leadership and innovation.” El Dorado Park is set to cover an area of 115,000 square metres. The project’s first phase will include an aquatic amusement park called ‘The Water Temple’. The first phase will also feature restaurants, bars and shops, as well as the El Dorado Arena. The conceptualisation team includes industry leaders who have worked on projects for Disney and Universal. The water park will be an “exclusive attraction that complements the offer of tourism within the destination city and throughout the country. (2022/01/05)
