April 4th - Tomb Sweeping Day |
Tomb Sweeping Day, at the turn of mid spring and late spring, is one of the Chinese traditional festivals. With many years of historical developments and evolutions, it features the profound cultural meanings. On this day, people visit and clean the gravesite of their ancestors to show their respect. In addition, they also go for walks in the countryside, planting willows, eating rice pan cake and flying kites. Those who cannot travel back to their ancestors’ gravesites may opt to pay their respects at martyr cemetery to pay homage to revolutionary martyrs. (2021/04/02)
