EAG International Expo 2021 is cancelled due to pandemic |
It is with great sadness that the organisers of bacta’s Entertainment, Attractions & Gaming International Expo (EAG) have announced that EAG 2021, due to take place in January 2021, has been cancelled due to ongoing uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Martin Burlin, Chairman of EAG, “As the exhibition is an international event, we came to the conclusion that cancellation was the only sensible solution considering the continuing restrictions on travel and mingling in larger groups. There is a high level of risk associated with putting on a show in the current climate and given so much planning and work goes into staging an international show for all parties involved, we knew we had to take this difficult decision sooner rather than later before our exhibitors started incurring costs.”
Karen Cooke of Swan Events, the main organiser of the event, adds: “The entertainment, attractions and gaming industries have been hit extremely hard by the pandemic and we appreciate that it hasn’t been an easy time for anyone in the leisure sector. We are currently working closely with EAG exhibitors and exploring other ways to support the industry. Further details will be announced in the coming weeks. “On a more positive note, all being well EAG will return to ExCeL London from 11th-13th January 2022.” (2020/09/18)
