New VR facilities introduced at Malaysian resort |
Resorts World Genting, located in the highlands about an hour outside Kuala Lumpur, wants to become known as the “destination for virtual reality (VR) experiences in Malaysia and Asia.” The new Sky VR attraction recently opened with five innovative offerings inside the 400,000-square-foot Skytropolis Indoor Them Park. One of the top attractions is a custom 32-seat Triotech XD Theater. It is one of the largest virtual reality theaters in Malaysia.
“Southeast Asia, and particularly Malaysia, is a strong growing region,” says Triotech founder and CEO Ernest Yale, who adds that this company’s turnkey solutions offer “a strong ROI (return on investment) for operators.” Sky VR visitors can also “teleport” into an undiscovered 360-degree robotic realm with Sangwha’s RoboCoaster, gear up for an “ultrarealistic mission” with Brogent’s Vortex, or explore two attractions with military roots: Ray Latypov’s VirtuGlobe and Frontgrid’s ParadropVR, branded as “SkyGlider VR”, which was first created as a training simulation for British paratroopers.
