MENALAC to support KOCCA’s K-Content Expo 2019 in Dubai |
KOCCA is a government entity dedicated to promoting the country’s entertainment industry content and it has been operating from its UAE office to enhance businesses in the region since 2016. 2019 marks the second iteration of the workshop, which has seen a 100 per cent growth in the numbers of participants compared to last year’s event. In addition, it will be operated in conjunction with the Korea Brand and Content Expo 2019, which takes places from October 16-18 at Dubai World Trade Centre. The Korea Brand and Content Expo is the brainchild of the Korean government and is the largest event of its kind held in the region. It will bring more than 130 companies from South Korea to showcase cutting-edge tech products such as VR, gaming and digital content as well as products and services from other sectors such as food and beauty. The event will also see K-Pop bands perform.
The workshop starts at 2:30 pm on October 17 at the Al Ain JK Hall of the Dubai World Trade Center and 14 Korean companies will present their initiatives on immersive content including VR, AR and holographic technologies. In addition to the workshop, KOCCA will organise an exclusive networking session for MENALAC members, an exhibition tour and one-on-one meetings with companies until 6 pm. Participants will get the chance to enjoy a K-Pop concert at exclusive MENALAC suites. “As headset technology evolves, VR, AR and XR are slowly but surely becoming more mainstream with the leisure entertainment and edutainment sectors,” said Prakash Vivekanand, secretary general of MENALAC. “Such technology has to be complemented with great, immersive content, as without such engaging content, you cannot attract customers. MENALAC is indeed pleased to support this KOCCA initiative and provide an opportunity for our members to exclusively interact with leading content creation companies from Korea who will be attending this conference.” (2019/10/17) |
