New aquatic park opens at Hotel Riu Ocho Rios resort in Jamaica |
Riu Hotels and Resorts has reopened its Hotel Riu Ocho Rios all-inclusive resort in Jamaica with some changes. The property, first opened in 2005, has undergone a dramatic refurbishing project, one that included what Riu called a “complete overhaul of its facilities.” The biggest change, Riu has added what has become a staple of many of its resorts in the Caribbean, is a new Splash Water World aquatic park.
Other changes to the resort include a complete renovation of all of the guest rooms; a completely new swimming pool area; the addition of the RiuLand kids park; and a new “RiuFit” area for fitness enthusiasts; and a new fusion dining concept called “Kulinarium.” The reimagined poolscape means Riu Ocho Rios now boasts five pools at the property, including two pools with swim-up bars. The changes have also included the addition of 45 new “family” rooms, according to the Spanish company.
RIU Hotels opened its first hotel in Jamaica in 2001 and today already has six resorts totaling more than 3,000 rooms. Two are located in Negril, three in Montego Bay and one in Ocho Rios. For next year, RIU has already planned the reform of the Riu Montego Bay, with which all its offer in the country will be completely renovated or will be of recent construction. |
