Reel Cinemas are set to open a seven-screen site on the 130,000sq.ft scheme while bowling operator Superbowl UK has plans for a £2m, 14 lane bowling alley with arcade, soft play, ropes course, diner and bar. Construction of the scheme is planned to begin in October this year with a Q3 2020 opening for the attractions. Director of Superbowl UK, Kate Quaintance-Blackford, told Insider Media: "Superbowl UK Bishop Auckland presents us with an exciting opportunity to bring our distinctive brand of family entertainment to County Durham, where we believe it will prove extremely popular." It is believed negotiations are ongoing with several other leisure and retail operators. (2019/03/01)
