New standards for trampoline parks passed in Utah |
A new set of legislation has been passed in the US state of Utah requiring all trampoline parks to be licensed and follow a new set of stipulations. The Utah House voted 54-19 to add the new standards for parks across the state which requires parks to follow safety standards, get an inspection before acquiring a business license and have liability insurance. "The standard that is incorporated here is what I think is the least intrusive possible, it’s simply that if you’re going to operate a trampoline park you ought to follow industry standards," said Representative Norm Thurston, the bill’s sponsor. An amendment to remove the requirement for insurance was proposed but ultimately failed. The bill will now go to the Senate. (2019/02/22) |
