Lubbock’s Adventure Park hopes to open their ‘phase one’ this spring |
The main building is up, and Evans said crews are working to install flooring, cabinets, and kitchen equipment this week. “We pretty much have electrical through the site,” Evans said. Evans and her team have also started the interior design of Expedition Cafe, where customers can grab food and a drink in the open space, which provides a view of both the indoor and outdoor attractions.
Evans said there will also be televisions in the dining area, so customers do not miss out on the big games. Evans said the indoor attractions will also include a rock wall, bumper cars, laser maze and game room. At the back of the facility, construction has started on private rooms available for birthday parties and conferences with garage-like doors to get a better view of the action outside. Adventure Park’s larger attractions are outside and include a three-story climbing structure with nets, so kids do not have to be harnessed. Evans said there is also an 18-hole miniature golf course, putting course, go-karts and bumper boats. Evans said phase two of the project includes the ropes course and zip line, which she hopes will open in the summer. Evans said they are already taking reservations for parties in the spring, so the pressure is on to have this major project complete within the next few months. (2019/02/20) |
