With the rapid development of the amusement industry, China has become a well-deserved country in the large volume of amusement equipment. Relevant data show that domestic amusement equipment accounts for about 40% of the world's total output. However, China is a big manufacturer of amusement facilities, not a powerful manufacturer. The products are mainly sold to Southeast Asia, Africa, the Middle East and other regions by virtue of practicality and low price, while sales in Europe and the United States are less.
In recent years, the pace of life has been speeding up, the work pressure has increased, so the demand for relaxation for adults has increased. Projects with strong experience and breathtaking excitement are the demand for public amusement. High-altitude rides such as zipline, glass boardwalk, bungee jumping and rock climbing have all at once become internet-famous rides. When the stimulation brought by traditional amusement equipment cannot fully meet the needs of customers, amusement facilities should continue to be developed into a variety of sports combinations. Diversified combined amusement equipment will become important demand for the development of the amusement industry.
At present, among the hundreds of domestic amusement manufacturers, there are more than 100 enterprises with a large amusement equipment production certificate. Some high-tech enterprises have launched market competition with well-known foreign enterprises, gradually realizing the replacement of imports, and constantly expanding in the international market. The Special Equipment Production License (Annual Inspection is required) for large amusement equipment is issued by the Special Equipment Safety Supervision and Administration Department under the State Council. Large amusement equipment is divided into three categories: A, B, and C, which are divided according to its capacity, structure, speed, and lifting height, covering scooters, gyros, sightseeing cars, cable cars, flying towers, carousels, self-controlled airplanes, water park facilities, racing cars, small trains, bumper cars, and battery cars.
According to data from the State Administration for Market Regulation, from 2014 to 2018, the number of China’s large-scale amusement facilities registered 19,200 units (sets), 20,400 units (sets), 22,300 units (sets), 24,200 units (sets), and 25,100 respectively, showing an upward trend year by year. In 2019, the number of large-scale amusement facilities registered in China reached 24,900 units (sets), but this was a slight decrease compared to 2018. From 2014 to 2018, the hot demand for domestic large-scale amusement facilities was mainly due to the large-scale expansion of real estate developers such as Wanda and theme park giants such as OCT and Fantawild. In addition, after the concepts of "tourism+" and "+tourism" were proposed, the cultural tourism industry also has shown some demand for amusement equipment.
In the pursuit of adventure and excitement, amusement facilities are developing in the way of faster, higher, more complex, and more functional with higher safety standard for design, manufacturing, installation, management and operation. Under the premise of promising development prospects, it also hides the challenges for amusement equipment manufacturers. With the intensification of international competition, domestic amusement equipment enterprises need to change their thinking and enhance creativity and improve design while rapidly expanding their market share.
From big to powerful, it is the only way for China amusement equipment enterprises to realize "Created in China".
