Gippsland Regional Aquatic Center officially opened |
Latrobe City Council announced that its new multi-million dollar Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre was opened to the public from 6am on Thursday 25th March 2021. This state-of-the-art facility features a variety of pools, a fully equipped gym, aquatic play area, spa, and sauna & steam rooms. These facilities will be open from 25th March with programmed group fitness classes, including spin classes, starting on the same day. However, the Council advises that “as a result of COVID-19, delays have been encountered in the delivery of gym fitness equipment; unfortunately this will delay the opening of the gym.” The new aquatic centre is the flagship project of the Victoria Government’s $85 million Latrobe Valley Sports and Community Initiative program administered by the Latrobe Valley Authority. The YMCA, who is managing the facility on behalf of Council, is currently recruiting for a number of roles at the facility. (2021/3&4, 195G)
