Taiwanese manufacturer International Games System Co., Ltd. (IGS) announced on October 13, 2020 that its self-reported net operating profit for September was NT$393 million, a net profit before tax of NT$346 million, and a monthly pre-tax EPS of NT$4.84. The accumulated pre-tax earnings per share for the first three quarters of this year was NT$42.12, earning more than 4 share capital. According to the legal representative, the stable operation of online games under IGS, coupled with the revenue from game licensing in the US market, is optimistic about the fundamentals in the long run. IGS’s revenue in September increased by 3.5% monthly and 53.6% annually, and set a new record in a single month. It also stood firm at the NT$700 million mark for three consecutive months, and its performance was quite impressive. Cumulative revenue for the first three quarters of this year was NT$6.101 billion, a 69% increase over the same period last year.
IGS’s revenue from online games and commercial game consoles accounted for 92% and 8%, respectively. It currently uses its 6 online games "Golden HoYeah", "Star31", "Good Luck777", "Slam Tycoon", "Aptune Treasure" and "Golden Tiger" as the main driving forces of operation. In addition to online games, IGS has also recently benefited from the licensing of online gambling games in the United States. In the first half of the year, the Covid-19 pandemic in the United States raged, playgrounds were closed, and most physical players were "forced" to move to the online game market, and the popularity of online casual gaming games has increased.
IGS has been working in the US game market since 2017. It authorizes local agents to collect license fees, and there are more and more cooperating manufacturers downstream of the agency, which is a strong power to IGS’s revenue. IGS said that the cooperation with local agents is long-term and will continue to contribute to future performance. At present, the revenue from the authorized contribution from the United States is between "Star 31" and "Good Luck777", accounting for about 10% to 15%. The legal representative pointed out that in addition to the two kinetic energy of online games and online game licensing, the current overseas market accounts for 60% to 70% of total revenue, and Taiwan has only 30% to 40% left. Operational risks are more dispersed than in the past. It’s happy to see the annual operating performance. (2020/11, 192G)
