Australia water park Outback Splash planning for expansion |
A popular water park in Perth, Australia, has reopened its water facilities in the fourth week of September. It has applied to the City of Swan to expand facilities at its Neaves Road venue in Bullsbrook. The proposed expansion would include two more slides designed by Polin Waterparks, and a pool with water spray fountain and volleyball net. The plans also include a dining hall, ablutions building, and a large tourism-art installation. Construction of the slides is likely to be several years away, as business development manager Eli Barlow said it would depend on how long it took to receive development approval.

A 20m high, four-slide water tower opened in November, 2019; however, Mr. Barlow said they did not get to see last season play out because COVID-19 restrictions closed the venue in late March. “We are very fortunate to be featured as part of Wander Out Yonder – we’ve had a lot of positive feedback from that,” Mr. Barlow said further. The maze and Australian animal attractions reopened in July when restrictions eased, and water attractions will reopen from September 26, in time for the school holidays. (2020/10, 191G) |
