The Garden City Water Park, the first water park in Cambodia and largest in Asia area, will be opened to the public in Mid-August. It is invested by Cambodian tycoon Ly Yong Phat with a total investment of $55 million. Built on 6 hectares of land near Safari World Zoo and located in Lord Ly Yong Phat New Satellite Town Development Area, the water park is about 15 km from the urban area of Phnom Penh. The manager of this project once said that there are numerous features in this water park, for example, the artificial coast with more than 3 meters of waves can sweep up the waves and rush to the shore. Other exciting programs such as unique water roller coaster, huge swimming pool, and children's park among others, which will become a good place for families to relax in the summer and also a new tourist spot to attract domestic and foreign visitors.
LYP Group's decision to build this project comes as water parks that meet international standards continue to be deficient in Phnom Penh and other places in Cambodia. Built in khmer architectural style by a world-renowned architecture firm, the water park combines traditional khmer architectures such as Angkor Wat and the Bayon Temple with modern elements. The project manager recently revealed that it will be opened to visitors in mid-August. Lord Ly Yong Phat, CEO of LYP Group, hopes that the water park will attract visitors from home and abroad. The exact ticket price information of the water park has not been announced yet. (2020/08, 189G) |
