Queensland approves AU$65M Actventure water park |
While COVID-19 continues to close doors, a new one is opening for the Sunshine Coast. A brand new multi-million dollar water theme park and resort has been given the green light with construction expected to begin at the end of 2020. Development and investment company, Sanad Capital, is behind the project, known as an Invigorate Integrated Tourism Resort Complex and Actventure waterpark, and it's been in the pipeline since 2014.
It will be the first themed attraction on Queensland's Sunshine Coast in 30 years.
Actventure's waterpark and resort will include self-contained family-friendly villas, around 25 rides, adrenalin experiences and a world class surf wave pool. It will be the third largest water park in the state behind rival attractions on the Gold Coast, Wet 'n' Wild and WhiteWater World. And, hold onto your hats, it will be home to the largest water splash park in the WORLD. It's proposed to be built on a 14 hectare site 90km north of Brisbane on Steve Irwin Way at Glenview. The park is set to open in late 2022. (2020/06, 187G) |
