This year, organizers of Mobile World Congress (MWC), GTI Asia Taipei Expo, IAAPA Expo Asia, and Electronic Entertainment Expo have made the decision to postpone their expos to 2021 and a number of trade shows will be put off in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Many authorities have imposed a series of lockdown measures on cities in an unprecedented effort to contain the outbreak of the deadly new virus. A good many countries have closed all entertainment venues, including Disneyland, Universal Studios, and Six Flags.
The amusement industry is taking a big hit because of the pandemic. However, China's economic activities are resuming to normal as the epidemic has largely stabilized. Qingming Festival (4-6 April) has seen the first wave of spending spree in China. We believe that China’s economy enjoys strong resilience, broad space for domestic demand, and a solid industrial foundation.
Still, cheer up: opportunities and challenges coexist under the epidemic situation of COVID-19. At a certain point, you need to roll up your sleeves and take actions. Let’s think outside the box in a new way to bring real changes. The epidemic is expected to recede and we should prepare well in advance for the market recovery. Here are some things to keep in mind: be committed to research & development of premium quality products, optimize your sales process and improve services. Although amusement and leisure industries are not basic industries, recreation and leisure help people to improve their quality of life. What’s more, amusement equipment is essential for shopping malls and real estate, bringing laughter and happiness to people.
