The World’s first rotating slide debuts at Aquapark Reda in Poland |
An amazing water slide that rotates has just opened at a water park. Families on a budget can buy tickets to the attraction from less than ?5[PG1] per person. The 30m (98ft) AquaSpinner at Aquapark Reda, which is based near Gdansk in Poland, claims to have the world’s first rotating slide. And the only way to go down the slide is on giant rubber rings that are big enough for a group of four. Unlike any other water slides, where you go straight down or in winding loops, the AquaSpinner will go back and forth in a pendulum motion. According to the company, this slide will “make you feel there is no gravity”.
In a clip which shows the slide in action, guests are seen on rubber rings, which are pushed into the slide by a conveyer belt. Once inside, it quickly picks up its speed as it goes down. And once the slide rotates, the ring stops then goes backwards before going forwards again. Guests can reach a maximum speed of 40km/h while going through the rotating slide. Tickets for the water park starts from ?3.98 (20PLN) for an hour or ?9.94 (50PLN) for the day, while each go on the mind-bending slide costs 80p (4PLN) per person. Another feature in the water park is an unusual attraction with a shark slide. Thrill-seekers can go down a 60m (197ft) lazy river that travels through a tunnel surrounded by sharks and other fish. Aqua Park also has a wave pool, a jacuzzi for 24 people, a lazy river around the entire water part and plenty of slides for smaller kids. (2020/03, 184G) |
