Shimao Group and International Merchandising Promotions and Services S.A announced on March 20 that the first Smurfs-themed park in the Asia-Pacific region will be located within the Shanghai Sheshan National Tourist Resort in Songjiang district. The park consists of three different themed areas - "Wonderland Area", "Adventure Area" and "Smurfs Area". The first phase "Wonderland Area" was opened to the public in December 2018. The second phase "Adventure Area" and "Smurfs Area" will bring visitors a new immersive amusement experience through interactive games, puppet performance and other entertainments with the help of the international IP. At present, the Smurfs-themed park is gradually being opened to the public, and it is cooperating with the surrounding scenic spots such as Laoshan National Forest Park, Shanghai Happy Valley and Chenshan Botanical Garden.
